Course Title: Standard Trigonometry/Pre-Calculus
2 Semesters – 10 Credits – 5 Class Periods Per Week
Course Description:
Standard Trigonometry/Pre-Calculus encompasses and extends topics and concepts of intermediate algebra. The goals of the class are to develop proficiency with mathematical skills, to expand understanding of mathematical concepts, and to improve logical thinking.
Course Objectives:

Students will understand how relationships and concepts in mathematics demonstrate the wonders of God’s creation.

Students will understand how mathematics reveals the invisible attributes of God.

Students will understand how mathematics aids mankind in fulfilling our purpose of honoring God and serving each other.

Students will demonstrate a competence in intermediate algebraic skills through review of linear relations and functions as well as theory of equations.

Students will demonstrate a competence in the use of vectors.

Students will become familiar with and develop a competence in a variety of trigonometric topics such as the unit circle, trigonometric functions and identities, and the application of trigonometry.

Students will develop a competence in the use of exponential and logarithmic functions.

Students will become competent in the computation of probability and statistical values.

Students will become familiar with basic calculus functions such as limits, derivatives, and integrals.

Prerequisite:
A semester grade no lower than "C" in Honors or Standard Algebra II, or consent of instructor.
