Course Title: Spanish II

Course Description:
 
Spanish II, the second of the four levels of Spanish courses offered at WCS is an intermediate level college preparatory class designed to build skills in grammar, composition, speaking, pronunciation, and cultural awareness. The present, preterit, and imperfect tenses are taught, along with extensive vocabulary that will fully prepare students for Spanish III.
 
Instruction and discussion will provide the students with continued opportunity to understand God’s desire for us to communicate effectively with Him and with others.   Students will also continue to develop language skills for sharing the Gospel in Spanish.  In addition, students will learn the “Lord’s Prayer” and the “Roman Road to Salvation” in Spanish.  The Hispanic culture will be presented in each unit and the Core Biblical Truths will be a focus of discussion and will be illustrated and supported by scripture.
 
During the second semester the students will research a Spanish speaking country and develop a ministry plan for a mission trip to that country.  Students will present that plan to the class.
 
Objectives:
 
  • They will be exposed to material that will contribute to their spiritual growth and possible                           evangelistic purposes.
  • To present God’s Word and biblical worldview daily through integration of Core Biblical                              Truths 
  • Extend vocabulary knowledge and usage
  • Become proficient with high level sentence structure
  • Identify irregular verbs
  • Build on conversational skills
